Fleetwood Wine

Add Mick Fleetwood to the growing list of celebrities who are producing wine. The founder of legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac spent hours meeting his adoring public at Sonoma County Costco last week but unlike some who lend their names to other winemakers' wines, Fleetwood says he is heavily involved in the winemaking process, visiting the wineries and blending the wines whenever possible to craft something he likes. Fleetwood got into winemaking in 2001 and has since produced 17 vintages under his Mick Fleetwood Private Cellars line of wines. He expects to produce well over 100,000 cases of wine this year. Fleetwood's wines sell in the $20 range and with a large projected production, he doesn't seem to have a price point problem. I have yet to see these here on the east coast and I'm not sure if the woman in the picture is more excited to meet Mick the English rock legend or Mick the 6 year wine veteran. Either way it sounds like his doing pretty well in the wine game, just like his band did in the music one.
