Disney Wine

Disney is launching a wine label via Costco Wholesale Corp. that is based on its upcoming animated film Ratatouille, a Disney film about Remy, a rat that creates fabulous food in a Paris restaurant. Ratatouille wine will begin to arrive at Costco stores starting in early August and will, naturally, be a French wine - a white Burgundy that will retail for $12.99. The licensed products, targeted at adults and minus the atypical mouse ears, highlights Disney's push to gain greater market share in sophisticated consumer products.

[This is not the first and only wine connected to Disney — Silverado Vineyards in Napa Valley is owned by Diane Miller, Walt Disney’s daughter, and her husband Ron.]

The Ratatouille wine is an excellent product and marketing idea for Disney and hopefully for Christmas they will have the DVD/2 bottle gift pack which would be the perfect gift for a family with small children where the parents also love wine.
