Make mine a blockbuster

Last month it was the Transformer Martini and this month it is the Homer's D'oh-nut. Local Boston restaurants are jumping on the summer blockbuster movie bandwagon and creating their very own tie-in drinks. These are typically offered for a limited time however can be a great chance of pace for the customers and it gives their local mixologists a challenge to create a new movie inspired concoction.

In July, Bar 10 [found in the Westin Copley Place] offered the Transformer Martini which featured a frozen strawberry-basil or raspberry-basil sorbet cube, which, as it melts, transforms into a strawberry or raspberry basil mojito martini. This month we have the Bambara Cambridge showcasing the Homer's D'oh-nut and of course their very own Flaming Moe. The Homer's D'oh-nut is made of Stoli Razberi, Baileys, Butterscotch Schnapps, and raspberry puree while the Flaming Moe consists of plum vodka, cranberry, and plum syrup - hold the cough syrup. But hurry up, soon both the Movie and it's inspired drinks will be gone for the summer.

So I guess the Boston bar scene, is truly more than meets the eye, D' oh!
