Wine-a-rita for a hot summer day

As we enter the dog days of summer, you might be looking for something even colder [and refreshing] then your typical Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc. Frozen drinks do well this time of year but a margarita can tend to be a bit hard on the system after a couple on a hot summer day. Well Wine Glacé has come the rescue.

Wine Glacé is a dry mix that you blend with wine and ice to produce a frothy, frosty, pink beverage mingling with sweetness and citrus tang. This mixture creates the first true Wine-a-rita perfect for hot summer days and warm summer nights. The powered mixture is the brain child of two north Texas friends Donna Griffin and Judy Smith. The pair had wanted to create a replacement for their margarita and wanted to include their love for wine inventing the new drink sensation Wine-a-rita.

As a typical red wine drinker, I go for whites in the summer but miss my reds and now I have a means to enjoy my full bodied reds in the summer and stay cool and refreshed. This is by far the best part of making the Wine-a-rita. Mr. Merlot, Zinfandel, Shiraz, and Cabernet... Welcome to summer!
